ENGESA Mercedes Benz LG-1519 6x6 boomerang 'Mamute'

Masterpiece of ENGESA - Specialized Engineers S/A. Demonstration of the ability to overcome obstacles: the versatility of the boomerang. Technical data: Engine: OM-355/5 Transmission: ZF S680 Steering: ZF hydraulic Traction and reduction system: Engesa.

I could watch this all day. I didn't expect the four rear wheels to be suspended as a bogie and swing around a pivot point - that on top of the normal suspension on each wheel gives unbelievable axle articulation! This vehicle was developed by Engesa in the 60's for an artillery unit. This type of paint was never used in Brazil. This is used in mountain and desert areas. But it was a 6×6 ball show called a mammoth. few in the army because some of them had already gone to auctions in a deplorable state. The beginning of Engesa, still a small workshop in the Liberdade neighborhood in São Paulo, was to modify the Brazilian Army trucks with the then innovative Boomerang suspension patented by its founder, Engineer José Luiz Whitaker Ribeiro. This suspension was originally designed for Petrobras vehicles operating in the Reconcavo Bahiano.
