most of the ships travel usually in fairly narrow trade/shipping naval corridors - so they are not that far off from each other - meaning its fairly often for them to travel along the same paths - and this can lead to accidents if one side is dicking around /not paying attention.
The first one in the vid looks like an deliberate ramming and not an accident. The last one was also deliberate as it was going full spead ahead - most likely it was to be scrapped on the shore anyway. 1:59 That's the launch of the Navy's Largest amphibious carrier, not a crash. 2:48 You always wonder how in the immense vastness of the open sea you can make two slow ships crash like if no one could see the other ship coming. 3:37 even though it's moving slow that ship has an crazy amount of energy behind it The ship at 3:49 is a special scientific research ship know as the flip. It's designed the flip into the water from the horizontal position to the vertical position. It allows it to create a very stable platform in the water for the scientific instruments on board. The one at 4:06 isn't crashing or sinking, it's doing what it is designed to do. It's a US navy ship called the RP FLIP. 5:17 This ship isn’t crashing, it’s an intentional beaching. The ship is being purposely beached for scrapping. PS, the one at 4:07 is a 250m long deep research ship, designed to fill with water from one end until it stands on-end in the water. Once research is gathered the submerged end has the water pumped out, the ship returns to upright travel position and can move to new locations.
