This video shows how to make a DIY live-edge brass river coffee table. The coffee table is made from a live edge sassafras slab and 3/8” brass rods. This is a fairly simple DIY woodworking project, which can be completed with only three woodworking tools -- a circular saw, sander, and drill (and of course, Rockler’s doweling jig). A track saw is nice, but not a must have. To keep things simple, I used pre-fabricated steel legs for this coffee table.




Naming this table is going to be fun. At first, thought I would call it an “empty” river table or a “draught” river table, or an “exploded” river table. But then I realized, it has to be called a “Sassa-brass” or “Brass-afras” river table. I’m not sure which I like more.
