Will they ever figure out how to move the tandems back to keep the truck from standing up and excessively overloading In the west we would find this sort of stuff funny and unbelievable. However, much respect should go to these hard-core truckers and their equally hard-core trucks. Often, there isn't any other way. It has long been demonstrated that the chassis and engineering of these former Soviet-block machines are able to take the punishment and strain of such situations. The luxury of a paved road often does not exist. It should be appreciated that these machines were built with such conditions in mind, therefore the majority of clips from this video need to be viewed in context. There is also something to be said about driving in such conditions. In so many videos, we see trucks on the verge of being bogged, where the driver will just keep gunning the throttle and therefore dig the wheels in vehicle deeper. Intelligent driving means that once you lose traction and stop, do not keep spinning the wheels; either back up if you can, re-try, or seek help with a tow. The majority of clips here demonstrate good driving technique. Ural best truck ever! I drive it 85-90 in GDR-army (NVA)! We love the Ural and say "Uri" to this truck!
