Huge Terex RH170 Front Shovel Mining Excavator Loading Dumpers

I can't get enough of heavy equipment construction vehicles.. I greatly admire the engineering put in the design of construction equipment - the physics to balance and lift loads, the placement of hydraulics, and of course all of the numerous unlabeled black levers that control them!  I would guess this machine dates from the mid 1980’s which doesn’t mean it isn’t still working at this location to this day. You just don’t move them to another site. Also it is totally repairable if you have good machinists and diesel mechanics. What a beast!
I've not been around front shovel machines much, but do love to watch the videos of them. They seem to operate much more slowly than backhoe machines, but they do seem to get massive amounts of overburden moved. Of course, that depends upon the proficiency of the operator ..... and this operator seems to know how it's done. These guys are amazing to watch. Thnx, MMC for yet another great video. Much appreciated, from Ohio, USA!   P.S.: This old machine has obviously been around for awhile .... She still seems up to the task tho!
If you keep machines clean and in good condition the rewards are great. Keep the cab in good order, the seats in near new condition, etc. The operator will take pride in his job and will be more productive.  I love these videos. I do wish they would put up a quick graphic of where the mine is and what they’re mining
