What you're looking at here is Caterpillar's massive D11T bulldozer being operated using a remote control joystick. It outputs over 900 horsepower, and has an operating weight of over 120 tons. Top speed is just 7.3mph going forward and 8.7mph in reverse, but who cares It's a freaking bulldozer that works with remote joysticks. It's like the world's greatest remote-controlled toy - except it's actually designed for moving huge piles of earth in locations too dangerous for human operators.
This is a good way to level things out. I always have difficulty seeing the blade of a loader, dozer and so forth. Wish they offered this in a farm tractor. looks easier to operate, as you can see exactly, the cutting edge of the dozer blade. I know when in the drivers seat its a feel thing, but I like this concept. A steel making company where come often has a remotely operated bulldozer. It is also covered completely with steel plates. I'd like to see if this a real a RC Dozer in person! I know they have flown real Airplanes like this, so I guess it's possible. What a great idea! A remote controlled weapon on a busy building site with hundreds of other remote controlled machines that the operator isn't able to see right round while operating. The standard of health and safety in the United Kingdom will never allow this! seems hard to run. I've been told to run equipment by the seat of your pants. meaning you have to feel the machine to run it as it tilts or rocks back and forth ECT. seems like it takes talent to run it effectively and accurate. Some days I miss that job running those dozers just not the foreman or boss the 11 has most power I’ve ever ran the visibility sucks like any other big dozer. This machine would be perfect for coal stock piling operations by removing the operator from the cab & putting them in a safe place to operate the dozer. this would be an ex operators dream you would get more vison being on the ground being able to cut a grade and see what changes and you would be able to get a better prospect on avoiding extra work I ran old school stuff cat 225/977/955/983 only one small dozer
