Stripping shovel and dragline working together

dad and son playing in the sandbox

Very cool! This would've been me and my son if I had these. Nice work! You two make a great team.  every time i get to watch this it makes me smile
not only are you and your son enjoying playing together  he is learning valuable lessons
with you and you are learning about him
more fathers should be doing this but many are like me when i was younger and  my kids were young i was to busy working or something and didn't take the time
it is my loss and will never get it back    ok enough of me whining   lol.
that is so cool that you and your son both get to play and spend time together on toys that you made for him. god bless and keep on digging,  Great video, puts my sandbox toys to shame when I was a young man.  Would not take much to put some dc motors on the winches. Your a fantastic Dad.   that is awesome!! i wish i had one of these when i was a kid... on second thought im 32 and it would be cool to have one now too. lol  Where did you acquire the gear and rack and pinion to operate the dipper.  I bet Ive watched this a hundred time s and finally noticed what I think is the rack and pinion for the dipper stick.  Again awesome work!  awsome!!! i love this, this would be something i would love to have to hone my skills. the only thing i see in need of help would be bucket angle on the shovel. kick the bottom out more and you have it made, (it would probly help more with the dutchmen issue also.) a shovel operator once told me to trick to a sticky latch is to crowd in drop the bucket and just befrore you jack the boom, stop everything and let it kind of wip and come shut.  would love to have one.
