With the capacity to transport two containers one above the other, the double stack train is one of the greatest examples of the efficiency of railroad transport. With the operation about to complete two years, since the first train circulated on 06/19/2019 leaving the CNAGA terminal in Sumaré-SP and bound for Rondonópolis-MT, this train continues to draw attention wherever it goes, both for its beauty and imposing, as for representing a great technological advance as for representing a good feeling that most Brazilians have for the railways, which was and is part of the lives of many of us! Operated by Brado which is a subsidiary of Rumo specialized in containers, it circulates with more than 70 wagons each with the capacity to transport up to 99 tons. In them the containers are distributed as follows: 1 of 40 feet or two of 20 feet on the bottom and one of 40, 48 or even 53 feet on the top. All this capacity is equivalent to at least 140 trucks, reducing traffic and emission of pollutants since energy use is much greater! For the time being, they only travel between Sumaré and Rondonópolis, but soon they will also circulate on the Norte-Sul Railway, which was inaugurated recently and every month has new terminals available. For those of us who are passionate about railroads, we look forward to seeing more and more of these beautiful trains crossing Brazil, showing everyone that our railroads are alive and with even better expectations for the future!
